An Islamic family game of thoughtful choices and giving.

Nobody sees your score - not even you.

AMANAH is a screen-free islamic board game where families travel, trade and choose to give, and only the good that you do, counts at the end.

How a game of AMANAH works?

1. Travel, trade and build

Journey around a board of historic cities, earning a living as you go. Trade goods like dates, honey and silk, give from what you have, and build wells, houses, masjids and waqfs that benefit others.

2. Choose and learn

Deed cards bring everyday situations to the table: choose your answer, then read the lesson together. Musafir cards add Islamic discoveries from your travels. Every Game Hasanat you earn goes into your own sealed Sirr box, and nobody sees the total, not even you.

3. Open the Sirr

After four laps, everyone opens their Sirr box together and counts their Game Hasanat to set the final placings. Money and possessions add nothing to the score, and nobody is knocked out along the way.

What your children practise, one turn at a time

Generosity

Gifting their goods to other players and giving game money at the Sadaqah Box let children practise sharing what they have instead of holding on to it.

Consistency in worship

Cards ask whether to pray on time, eat a little suhoor or start the day with morning remembrance, so children rehearse the habits they're building at home.

Honesty

When a card offers the easy way out, like keeping extra change or saying unfinished homework is done, children practise choosing the truthful answer.

Humility in learning

Cards ask whether to answer anyway or check with a teacher first, so children practise admitting what they don't know and learning from people who do.

Amanah

A peek at the table

A Deed card asks what you would really do. The good you earn goes,
unseen, into your Sirr box, the secret box."

Amanah

Built with care, from the first card

Every part ofAMANAH follows a few firm commitments.

  • Grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah, as understood by the early generations

  • Every religious teaching is sourced, and each source is part of our scholarly review

  • No dice: you choose your own path with a personal set of six movement cards

  • No images of people or animals

  • No one is knocked out or bankrupted, so everyone plays to the end

  • Scholarly review in progress. We will share the outcome here before launch.

Why we are building AMANAH

Most games teach children that winning means getting more. We wanted a game where the good you do is what counts, even when no one sees it. AMANAH is made in that spirit.

Questions parents ask

Is it a game, or a quiz?

It’s a family game, not a quiz. You travel, trade and build cities together, and everyday choices come up along the way. Nobody is graded or eliminated, and a short explanation after each choice turns it into a conversation with your children. Scores stay hidden until the final reveal.

How is the Islamic content being checked?

Religious teaching, its sources and relevant game mechanics remain subject to scholarly review. We will share confirmed review details and the scope of what was reviewed before launch.

What age is it designed for?

The current design is for ages 8+ and family play, with adult guidance where needed. Another player may help with reading. Suitability for children under 8 has not yet been confirmed.

Can older children still enjoy it after learning the answers?

Players also choose their route, manage resources, trade and develop cities. Repeated cards give children another chance to apply what they have learned. We are testing how these parts come together across repeat family sessions.

How many players, and how long does a game take?

The current design supports 2-5 players. Before starting, everyone agrees on one journey: Short (three laps), Full (four laps) or Extended (five laps). Four laps is the playtest standard. Each player finishes after resolving the turn that completes the agreed lap count. Actual family playtime is still being checked and will vary with player count, reading and discussion.

Does my child need to read independently?

Not on their own. Cards are read aloud, and a parent or another family member can help with reading or unfamiliar words. On a Deed card, the child chooses A or B before the answer.

How do players move?

Each player has six visible category cards matching the board colours. Choose an unused card and move anti-clockwise to the next square of that colour. Set the card aside; after all six have been used, take them back and begin a new cycle. The destination is visible before you choose. Movement uses no dice, numbered draw or spinner. Learning and encounter decks are still shuffled.

Who starts, and can players share a square?

The youngest player starts, and turns proceed anti-clockwise. More than one player may occupy the same square; each resolves it when they land there.

Do points rank who is a better Muslim?

No. Game Hasanat are fictional game points. Final standings are first, second, third and so on, based only on the collected game score. They do not measure faith, sincerity, reward from Allah or anyone's religious standing.

When and where can I buy it?
